Merry Christmas Wishes
Many families in Alabama come together to peacefully and joyfully celebrate Christmas. Unfortunately, this is not possible for almost 40,000 children in our state who are caught in our broken divorce system or dealing with parental alienation. While our state receives federal money to keep children away from their fathers (also remember 15% of non-custodial parents are mother), we become a weak and imbalanced society with our children suffering the most.
Please join me in sending prayers to these separated and divorced children and parents. Let us pray that laws will change making it easier for families to re-unite.
And for all the families that are able to celebrate with their children, I want to extend my hope for a beautiful holiday season filled with love and gratitude!
During this time and into the coming year, volunteers at the Alabama Family Rights Association will continue to fight daily to preserve, promote, and protect family relationships. We believe what science supports, that shared parenting be the norm for all families in our state.
“A man dies when he refuses to stand up for that which is right. A man dies when he refuses to stand up for justice. A man dies when he refuses to take a stand for that which is true.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
And finally, some good news to share: The “Children’s Equal Access Act,” which aims to maximize a child’s time with both parents, will be introduced during the Alabama 2018 legislative session.
