The Alabama Family Rights Association (ALFRA) is comprised of fathers, mothers,
grandparents, and children who have all experienced the tragedy of divorce and
its aftermath. We especially understand that CHILDREN NEED BOTH PARENTS in their
lives, not a parent and a "visitor" with a child support check. ALFRA knows we
need to change the "winner takes all" divorce process in the court system, and
have the courage to do what is REALLY in the children's best interests.
We support the passage of family-friendly legislation designed to ensure children
can have a meaningful relationship with both parents, and extended family, even
after those parents divorce. ALFRA members have a wealth of personal experience
with post-divorce parenting issues and we willing share them and any lessons learned
with our members.
There are many "reasons" and excuses people make to NOT get involved. You should
know why this issue should be important to you, and why you should act today to
change the current system.
